During a recent visit to Chicago, U.S. Ambassador to Moldova Igor Munteanu and Honorary Consul Dorel Nasui had a meeting with the Mayor Rahm Emanuel of Chicago, with whom they discussed issues of trade, economic interest, recent political developments in Eastern Europe, as well as various European historical affinities that are related to important ethnic communities of Chicago.
On this occasion, Ambassador Munteanu and Honorary Consul Dorel Nasui introduced the recent inauguration of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova to Illinois, which aims to initiate a vigorous program to boost economic and cultural cooperation between the State of Illinois and Moldova.
