On February 28th, 2016, the Honorary Consul and Community of Moldovans in Chicago (CMC) celebrated the Coming of Spring in the “Sezatoarea Martisorului” event. According to tradition, Mărțișor thread, knitted in white and red, is a symbol of passing, from the cold white winter, to the lively spring, associated with fire and life.
The beautiful event, organized by CMC, featured speeches, jewelry pop-up shops and performances by Moldovan musicians, and had special guest, journalist and author, Nata Albot, signing her new book, “Eat Like Moldovans.”
