NILES, IL – On October 30th 2016, direct presidential elections were held in the Republic of Moldova for the first time in 20 years. The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Illinois would like to congratulate the Moldovan diaspora in Chicago for the mobilization and active participation demonstrated by a record turnover.
In Chicago alone, 1,433 voters exercised their constitutional right. We express our sincerest gratitude to the Electoral Board, the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to the United States, and Logos Christian Academy for making this important event possible for Moldovan citizens living in Illinois.
The Honorary Consulate encourages Moldovan diaspora to achieve an even higher turnout at the run-off elections scheduled on November 13th. The polling station is located at Logos Christian Academy on 7280 N. Caldwell Ave. Niles, IL 60714.
